Total Computer Solutions (TCS) can help you reduce your Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance risk by performing a HIPAA Risk Assessment on your network. The cost of performing a HIPAA Risk Assessment is reasonable and will provide you with a wealth of information about your network’s status. Staying HIPAA compliant is not a one-time solution; like all security solutions, it is multi-layered. We recommend that you have an assessment performed twice each year to take corrective action on the issues highlighted.
TCS HIPAA Risk Assessment
The TCS Risk Assessment will give you specific information about what needs to be done on the network to achieve compliance. If you would like our help in correcting what was discovered in the assessment process, we will be glad to help you. The three most important parts of HIPAA compliance are documentation, documentation, and documentation. TCS can help you find software tools for HIPAA documentation so you can navigate the HIPAA requirements successfully.
Did you know that, according to HIPAA, if a laptop, hard drive, or USB is lost or stolen, you must assume there has been “data loss?” We recommend that any device that might leave your premises or be susceptible to being taken/stolen should have encryption. If a computer, hard drive, or USB is taken/stolen, the person who has it or finds it will be unable to read the information stored on the drive without the encryption key. Because the device was encrypted, you do not need to report the loss of this device as part of your HIPPA Compliance, and you can avoid the costs and embarrassment of notifying all your clients.
